1. Who is Gastronomia?

Since 1998, Gastronomia has built a reputation for offering first-class frozen culinary solutions for foodservice professionals in North America. We seek to offer time-saving solutions without ever sacrificing quality.

2. Who are Gastronomia's customers?

Gastronomia sells to a hand-selected group of distributors who work with upscale foodservice operators including hotels, restaurants, caterers, golf clubs, country clubs, high-end bars, etc.
Our Cool&Simple brand is sold to individual customers through food retailers as well as our own chain of Cool&Simple stores.

4. Where do Gastronomia products come from?

Gastronomia products are imported mainly from Europe and are of exceptional quality.

5. Is the quality of your frozen products similar to fresh products?

Yes! In order to achieve this, we select only the highest quality ingredients and work only with suppliers who are leaders in their product category. At Gastronomia, we understand that excellent frozen product starts with an excellent fresh product.

6. How do we use Gastronomia products?

Our products are intended to help save time without ever sacrificing quality. As such, all of Gastronomia's products are easy to use and to prepare. For instance, our freezer to oven viennoiseries do not need to be defrosted or proofed before being cooked. Each of our products comes with detailed conservation/preparation instructions.

7. How long can I keep the products in my freezer?

Gastronomia products will stay fresh in your freezer (at -18 °C) for 9 to 24 months, depending on the item. Once defrosted, they can be kept in the refrigerator and will have the same shelf life as fresh products. Each of our products comes with detailed conservation/preparation instructions.

8. Are the nutritional values of fresh vegetables and mushrooms superior to yours?

On the contrary, Gastronomia vegetables and mushrooms may have superior nutritional values due to the fact that they are flash-frozen at the peak of ripeness. Fresh products often sit for many days between when the vegetables and mushrooms are picked and when you use them, during which time they may lose many of their vitamins and nutritive values.

9. What is the difference between "ready to bake" and "proof and bake" viennoiseries?

Ready to bake viennoiseries can be baked directly from frozen at 162 °C / 325 °F for 10 to 15 minutes. They require no thawing or proofing before baking and are already coated with egg-wash.

Proof and bake viennoiseries need to be proofed at 28 °C / 82 °F for 2 hours (or can be left at room temperature for 6 to 8 hours) before being baked. Once they are proofed, they also need to be egg-washed.

no matter which method you choose, all Gastronomia products are easy to prepare and come with detailed preparation instructions.

10. How long can Les Vergers Boiron purees and coulis be kept once they have defrosted?

All Les Vergers Boiron purees and coulis are of exceptional quality and can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

11. Are your products kosher certified?

For the moment, only Les Vergers Boiron purées and coulis are kosher parvé certified. Click here to see the certificat.

12. What are the delivery timelines for orders?
