Is the quality of your frozen products similar to fresh products?Yes, we choose the highest quality ingredients and work only with suppliers that are leaders in their product category. Let us remind you that an excellent frozen product starts with an excellent fresh product. [Top] 6. How do we use Gastronomia products?Most of our products are very easy to use and to prepare. For instance, our freezer to oven viennoiseries do not need to be defrosted or proofed before being cooked. Each of our products comes with detailed conservation/preparation instructions. [Top] 7. How long can I keep the products in my freezer?Gastronomia products will stay fresh in your freezer (at -18°C) for 9 to 30 months, depending on the items. Are the nutritional values of fresh vegetables and mushrooms superior to yours?No, because there’s usually many days between when vegetables and mushrooms are picked and the day you use them. During this time they lose most of their vitamins and nutritive values. What is the difference between "ready to bake" and "proof and bake" Panifrance viennoiseries?Ready to bake Panifrance viennoiseries can be baked straight from frozen at 162°C/325°F for 10 to 15 minutes. No thawing, no proofing, no egg washing before baking. Proof and bake Panifrance viennoiseries need to be proofed at 28°C/82°F for 2 hours or can be left at room temperature for 6 to 8 hours before being baked. They also need to be egg washed. What are the delivery timelines for wholesale orders?From 1 to 5 days. [Top] 17. What are the delivery timelines for online orders.We ship exclusively via Purolator and within Canada. We accept orders seven days a week. Orders received before Noon EST Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will be delivered the following day or the day of your choice as available on our electronic calendar. Orders received after Thursday Noon EST, Fridays, during the weekend and Mondays will be shipped on Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery or the day of your choice as available on our electronic calendar. We will send you an email notifying you of the shipping date, the expected delivery date of your order as well as a tracking number to be able to follow your order.
We deliver to both residential and business addresses. We cannot ship to a Post Office box. Someone has to be available when your package is delivered because a signature is required. Purolator will not release the order without any signature. If no one is home when our driver arrives, Purolator will bring the package to its warehouse and you will then become responsible to pick it up at Purolator or make arrangements for another delivery. From that moment, you become responsible for the package. If you are not sure you can be there to receive the package, we suggest you send it to a business address or perhaps a friend or relative who would be available to accept the delivery. [Top] 18. Can my products be delivered on Saturday?Weekend deliveries are not available at this time. If you want to have your products for the weekend, please place your order on Thursday, you will receive it on Friday. [Top] 19. Why do orders placed late in the week or on the weekend ship on Tuesday?Your satisfaction with your purchase is essential to us. We want your products to arrive fresh and ready to enjoy. Rather than have our foods spend the weekend in a warehouse or delivery truck, we ship on Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery to minimize the travel time of your order. [Top] 20. Where do you ship?For the moment, our products are available in Canada only. We will keep you informed as soon as they will be available elsewhere! [Top] 21. Who will deliver my order?We ship exclusively via Purolator. [Top] 22. How much are the Shipping & Handling Fees?
[Top] 23. Do I have to be present for delivery?Someone has to be available when your package is delivered because a signature is required. Purolator will not release the order without any signature. Since your products are frozen, will they arrive in good condition?To optimize the quality and freshness of our products, your order will be packed with dry ice* and shipped in an insulated container.
*Safe Handling: Dry ice is extremely cold, -109°F (-79°C), and can cause severe frostbite within seconds of direct contact. AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND EYES. NEVER HANDLE DRY ICE WITH YOUR BARE HANDS. Always wear insulated gloves. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Only adults should handle dry ice. As soon as you receive your order, place products in a freezer. Leave the dry ice in the box and put the box in a well ventilated room (ideally outside). [Top] 25. What is dry ice?Dry ice is solidified carbon dioxide (CO2). It is extremely cold, -109°F (-79°C). Pure and odorless, it is not harmful or toxic since it is found in beers and sodas. Dry ice is the best way to keep products frozen out of a freezer. [Top] 26.
